What Changed
Tickmill has restructured its account offering. The former “Pro” account has been renamed to “Raw,” and the commission has increased from $2.00 to $3.00 per lot per side ($6.00 round turn, up from $4.00). The Classic account remains unchanged at zero commission with wider spreads from 1.6 pips.
A new “TradingView” account type has also been introduced at $3.50 per lot per side, offering native TradingView integration alongside MetaTrader 4 and 5.
| Account | Before | After | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raw (fmr Pro) | $2.00/lot/side | $3.00/lot/side | +50% |
| Classic | Zero + 1.6 pips | Zero + 1.6 pips | No change |
| TradingView | N/A (new) | $3.50/lot/side | New account type |
Who Is the Cheapest ECN Broker Now?
With Tickmill at $3.00, the industry standard for raw-spread commissions is now firmly in the $3.00-$3.50 range. The current leaderboard for EU-regulated ECN brokers:
| Broker | Commission/lot/side | Round Turn | Regulator |
|---|---|---|---|
| Admirals | $3.00 | $6.00 | CySEC, FCA |
| Tickmill | $3.00 | $6.00 | CySEC, FCA |
| Pepperstone | $3.50 | $7.00 | BaFin, CySEC |
| Eightcap | $3.50 | $7.00 | CySEC, ASIC |
| FxPro | $3.50 | $7.00 | CySEC, FCA |
| Axi | $3.50 | $7.00 | CySEC, FCA |
| Exness | $3.50 | $7.00 | CySEC |
Admirals and Tickmill now share the lowest commission among EU-regulated ECN brokers at $3.00/lot/side. Fusion Markets ($2.25) leads globally but lacks an EU-entity licence.
What This Means for Existing Tickmill Clients
If you trade 10 lots per day on EUR/USD, the cost increase is $20/day ($10 more per side on 10 lots). Over a month of 22 trading days, that's $440 in additional costs — material for active day traders and scalpers.
For less active traders (1-2 lots per day), the increase is $2-4/day — noticeable but not reason enough to switch brokers, given the friction of account migration.
Tickmill's execution quality, dual CySEC+FCA regulation, and free VPS offering remain competitive. The commission hike brings it in line with the market rather than making it expensive — it just removes the pricing advantage that distinguished Tickmill from the pack.
Alternatives for Cost-Conscious Traders
If raw commission cost is your primary criterion:
- Admirals — $3.00/lot/side (Zero account), CySEC + FCA regulated. Matches Tickmill's new price with a broader instrument range.
- Pepperstone — $3.50/lot/side (Razor account), BaFin + CySEC regulated. Slightly higher commission but tighter average spreads and TradingView + cTrader support.
- Interactive Brokers — $2.00/lot (tiered), volume discounts available. Best for high-volume traders willing to use a more institutional platform.
